Exclusive New Show Home in Grunewald, Berlin
On Berlin’s Leo-Blech-Platz, RALF SCHMITZ has built a pair of standalone villas, each containing three dream apartments of between 210 and 308 square metres. Now one of the development’s prestigious ground floor units has been turned into a luxurious full-floor show apartment furnished with pieces from Bottega Veneta’s Home Collection.
The entrance hall sets the tone with a striking ”Trunk Bench”, while the 52-square-metre living room, straight on from the hall, has mohair-covered “Tassello” sofas and pouffes arranged around a marble-topped “Floating Square” coffee table.
There’s also a one-off pashmina and linen rug, likewise by Bottega Veneta, and, above the fireplace, a piece by Gotthard Graubner, an artist whose works can be found in museums around the world as well as in the German parliament building.

Double doors lead off to the left and right, beyond which are a pair of stylish spaces of almost 30 square metres each – one a library, the other a dining room – both of which open onto the terrace.
The former is an ideal place to read or work, with its comfortable “Meta” armchair and “Sawhorse” desk with woven leather “Director” chairs; the triptych DIE SONNE UM MITTERNACHT SCHAUEN 7A/III /196 /1973 is by Katharina Sieverding.
On the other side, the dining room is dominated by a round “Column” table of black-and-gold marble, above which hangs a woven leather “Wide Drum” pendant light.
More double doors lead into the kitchen, which has contemporary Warendorf units and an island lit by Tekna’s glass-encased “Portreath-C” pendant.
On the right-hand side of the apartment is the master suite in which bedroom, dressing room and bathroom together provide over 50 square metres of floor space.
Here, a luxurious Bottega Veneta bed with a linen headboard is flanked by the firm’s “Floating” nightstands. A stylish chandelier by “Arteriors” illuminates the adjacent dressing room’s grey-stained oak wardrobes.
And the master bathroom offers a choice of free-standing Devon&Devon tub or walk-in shower plus a bespoke washstand of high-quality Silver Light travertine.
The fittings are from Dornbracht’s “Tara” line.

Photographs of different RALF SCHMITZ developments adorn many of the rooms, along with custom-made curtains and Roman blinds by Berlin-based furnishings firm Unique Factory. The wide-plank pale-oak flooring is by Bauwerk.
All six apartments at this desirable corner-plot development, which has façades of golden-yellow brick and an extensive, newly landscaped garden, boast high ceilings and decorative plasterwork, while practical features such as cloakrooms, utility rooms, security technology, large communal foyers and ample underground parking further add to the appeal of these first-class luxury homes.
